Trimming and Assembling a Teapot (Time lapse)
Here's a sped up video of me trimming and assembling my teapot. Final product is pretty nice in my opinion :)
This series of creations is a work in progress where I focus on sharp angles, dramatic composition, negative space, and repetitive forms. I was inspired one day when throwing an angled teapot; I imagined stacking these angled vessels on top of one another to form a new unique form. As for glazing, these pieces are glazed with a local clay body. I dug clay from the ground, dried it, powdered it, and added some ingredients to help it melt into a semi-gloss, speckled yellow-green glaze.
